ENGIE signs new global framework agreement with BWI, IndustriALL and PSI

 

On January 20th, ENGIE renewed its agreement with global union federations BWI, IndustriALL and PSI as well as with representative French trade unions at ENGIE level (CFDT, CFE-CGC, CGT and FO) on Group social responsibility and fundamental rights. The agreement follows the international social dialogue developed between the Group and the employee representatives over the past decade, already embodied in several agreements and conventions, both at European and global level. Together with its Belgian affiliates, the Secretary of the European Works' Council and BESIX, the Building and Wood Worker’s International (BWI) inspected two key construction sites in Côte d'Ivoire: Tower F and the Exhibition Centre. These visits took place on 2 and 3 December 2021 as part of the reference group’s monitoring of the International Framework Agreement.Read more...

Workers at Wendt Corporation, a plant based in Buffalo New York succeeded in winning their two-year fight for a collective bargaining agreement. The workers joined the Ironworkers Union (Local 576) in 2017 and they have been battling the management for its first contract. Finally, this past August the union and the management agreed to an agreement after nearly 60 sessions of negotiations. During the negotiations the Wendt management harassed union members and threatened to lay-off workers.
