Workers’ action bulletins highlight strength and resilience

"We may be observing physical distancing, but workers will never be distant from one another.”

This was the statement issued by BWI Latin American and Carribean Representative Nilton Fretias after BWI-affiliated trade unions in the region released two series of “workers’ action bulletins” in August showcasing how the regional leadership continued to fight and advance for workers' rights amidst a world hastily digitized by the pandemic. 

Dubbed as “BWI in Action,” the action bulletins showcased BWI's different training initiatives at the global and regional level, highlighted solidarity initiatives and provided needed information, especially to workers enduring lockdown measures.  

“These bulletins show the strength and courage of our global union, and the importance of organising workers and their families globally amidst a crisis,” Freitas said.
